ABOUT MY WORK
I have over five years of experience in influencing through digital media and facilitating productive, educational conversations around diversity, equity, and inclusions. From social justice organizations to universities to city governments, I'm trusted to create meaningful strategies, produce impactful messaging, and shape strong narratives through my digital content, workshops, and writing.
I leverage my background in neuroscience, leadership, and organizing to create strategic communications that help partners meet their goals. Whether that means developing an intensive workshop for a staff or building a long-term digital media plan, I work hand-in-hand with partners to bolster their brand’s inclusivity, internally and externally. My work aligns with my belief that brands should reflect communities, inside and out.
M4BL
At the Movement for Black Lives (M4BL), I consult as a Digital Organizer, and recently took the digital lead on the BREATHE Act, a visionary, modern-day Civil Rights Act. I work alongside firms, graphic designers, production teams, politicians, celebrities, and influencers to plan and execute successful digital campaigns that move audiences to take action.
BYP100
I served as the Communications Manager of BYP100 from January 2019 until August 2020. I was largely responsible for the internal and external communications of the organization, website creation, emails to BYP100’s 50,000 supporters, fundraising campaigns, and press relations. I was also charged with supporting and shaping strategy to drive forward dynamic campaigns affecting policy in New York City, Detroit, Durham, D.C., and Chicago.
Black Youth Project
At Black Youth Project, I created and edited content and copy for 50,000 subscribers and followers across the digital platforms Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. I built monthly plans in accordance with the annual content calendar, ensuring that editorial, video, and creative content were on target with each monthly theme.
The Grio
At The Grio, I created videos, social posts, and scripts for an audience of nearly 1.2 million subscribers across digital platforms. I created specialized content for award show nights and was tasked with generating viral hashtags to support pop culture events and social content from The Grio’s website. The videos she produced daily received hundreds of thousands of views.
Rising Majority
At the Rising Majority, I was sought out to serve as the digital lead for a 2-day live-streamed event called The Freedom Side: People’s Tribunal and Congress. I created and implemented the digital strategy for the event, including: building a social media content calendar, producing emails for the Rising Majority’s dedicated audience of 20,000, implementing creative projects to attract new audiences, and framing the event within strategic digital communications
